A Journal of the Plague Years: Pt. 1

Tuesday, June 11, at 2 PM on KPFK: My show this week is the first in a series produced for our June 2024 Fund Drive, edited to combine discussion, performance and, yes, celebration of a terrific new book and, of course, an enduring and essential radio station. Please donate to KPFK and do purchase a copy of A Journal of the Plague Years. It’s a compendium of work which developed out of the excellent online journal founded by writer Susan Zakin. In this first episode we’ll be introduced to the book, and its co-editors Zakin and Brian Cullman, who reads a short essay. And hear the first part of Blanche McCrary Boyd’s “Who the Fuck are the Boogaloos?” More contributors, readings and discussion from my guests in coming weeks including poet Maxine Chernoff and novelist, memoirist Steve Erickson.

Thanks for listening to Bibliocracy on the radio, online, or at the BibliocracyRadio.org website. Please donate to KPFK. Call the station at (818) 985-5735 or go online to kpfk.org.
